Swimming Finals

We're so proud of Ethan!!!

Reason #198

Reason #198 Ethan makes us laugh:

Finding his harness (yes, I was a cautious mom when he was little...) and pretending to be a puppy on a leash. Also, wearing the harness with his big ol' bike helmet on our bike ride today and looking like a total Philip the Hyper-Hypo kid.

Seemed like a good idea

When I just needed, and only had, ten minutes to pull myself together to run out the door for a meeting, Fun Dip seemed like a good idea to keep Ethan occupied.... (and, yes, he also had to attend the meeting with me....)

Reason #42

Reason #42 I love my husband:

Turning around on a busy road in an effort to save a stray turtle in the middle of the street.

Do these pants make my hiney look big?

Chris sent me this postcard in 1994. I don't know why he was in Texas, but his impression of it was "lots of hicks and gun racks". Of course, we have changed our opinion since living here ;)

Anyway, I found this postcard in our trunk of memories, and thought it was pretty ironic! I put it up in our computer room for grins. Yesterday, Ethan saw it and pulled it in for a closer look. Serious as a heart attack, he says, "Mommy, is this a picture of you?"

ummm....?!?!?!?! I'm not sure what to think about that one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Off topic, but just to remember....Yesterday, Ethan was thinking hard about something. Finally, he says, "You know, you say 'Today' when the sun is up; 'Tonight' when the sun is down." Just in case anyone needed clarification.

If you don't update soon...

"If you don't update the blog soon, there's going to be a revolt!"--Lisa, my beautiful sister-in-law

I DO have pictures; the heat is just making me too apathetic to upload them!

So, here's a short blip:

We prayed last night that Ethan would have a good attitude this morning for church (some Sundays, he has the worst attitude about having to get up early and staying all morning in his class). God answered our sweet boy's prayer....he had the BEST attitude today. He got himself dressed, turned off the TV, "brushed" his own hair (and I let him go that way because I was so proud of him), got in his car seat, and walked into his classroom, ALL ON HIS OWN VOLITION AND WITH A SUPER ATTITUDE! Praise the Lord!

Tonight, after evening church, I looked at him in his car seat. He just looked so old, so handsome, it brought tears to my eyes. I asked him, "How did you get so handsome?" He replied, "Well, I brushed mine own hair." Could I love him any more??
